GROWING CONDITIONS
Nestled between Oregon’s Coast and Cascade Mountain ranges, the Willamette Valley enjoys temperate conditions ideal for the growing of premium grapes and the creation of world-class wines. Roughly bisected by the Willamette River, this verdant region cuts a 100-mile-long swath, bounded by the Columbia River to the north and the Calapooya Mountains to the south.

The valley shares approximately the same latitude as that of the great vineyards of Burgundy, France; thus affording a winter season with some below freezing temperatures. However, this locale actually enjoys more hours of summer sunshine than both both Burgundy and the California wine regions. Long summer days, combined with cool evenings, achieve an average temperature variation of 30 degrees or more, thus allowing the Pinot vines and grapes to thrive by day and rest at night throughout the prime growing cycle.
